Rooted in Sustainability

We’re a small family-owned houseplant nursery based in Nashville.

Our mission is to help people slow down and heal with nature! Falling in love with houseplants is a stepping stone to caring about the nature around us. In other words, being a plant parent and caring about the health of the planet go hand in hand.

Sustainably grown from our collection to yours.

Hoya wayetii in biodegradable pot

Instead of growing our houseplants in plastic nursery pots, we use biodegradable pots! These biodegradable pots are made from 100% renewable and recycled, composted materials. They’re awesome for the growth of plants and good for the health of the planet. These containers can be planted directly into your pot of choice and will completely biodegrade in about 12 weeks. Plus they add nutrients to the soil as they break down!

To learn more about the benefits of these pots check out our page How to Plant Your Biodegradable Pot.

Biodegradable Pots

If ordering plants online we ship using the following plastic-free materials:

  • Recyclable/compostable cardboard box

  • Recyclable/compostable packing paper

  • Compostable wood shavings to keep moisture in and secure the soil

  • Recyclable/compostable kraft paper tape instead of plastic tape

  • Biodegradable bags as a barrier around the biodegradable pots

-We grow vertically! This saves space so a smaller footprint needs to be temperature controlled.

-We use LED grow lights which are incredibly energy efficient.

-Most of our watering practices are done through bottom-watering instead of top-watering which saves on water.

-Our plants are grown in small terrarium-like containers rather than in a large greenhouse. This allows us to keep the humidity up, which means water usage is lower than in a typical greenhouse.

-We use all organic fertilizers and soils for the health of the environment. In addition, the soils we use are peat-free and instead made with coco coir.

-Beneficial insects such as ladybugs and mites are used for pest prevention and control instead of using harmful pesticides.
